Application: Opponent is attacking from East (grabbing your right wrist with his left). The opponent is countered with a pull and arm lock / break. Splitting energy. Hidden sweeping kick.
Form: The opponent attempts to grab your wrist from East to West. The opponents left arm is pulled backwards. My left forearm lifts up along his left arm, while curling over and trapping/pushing downwards with my right wrist / hand. This move contains an escape caused by the weakness of the opponents thumb and index finger. The movement describe by the idea of strumming.
Free Fight: Generally defences against a single handed grab from any direction by any hand on any side. An understanding of the strumming action lends this technique a heavy presence throughout the form. Also can be used against a double handed grab, but not easily.
