Grasp The Sparrow's Tail

ROLL BACK Entice the opponent. Make him come forward without letting go
and with no resistance..(his) force will naturally become empty.

The opponent tries to neutralise your Ward Off Right arm lock by bending his elbow
in and attempting a shoulder strike.
Yang Jun Family Example.

Without changing footwork from Ward Off Right end posture turn your waist right (North
West) by 45 degrees. Both forearms turn gradually following your waist, The idea is to
roll your left arm and hand around your opponents left arm while using your right elbow
to apply pressure back towards the West on his elbow. You turn to your right then back
though 90 degrees to your left (South West) making your rear left leg substantial. Your
opponent ends up with his head towards the ground and his back up to you, in another
arm lock or break.

PRESS The energy here is like a coin (your opponent?) hitting a drum (You?).

The opponent attacks with a left hand strike to the body.

Without changing footwork from the mid-way point of Roll Back  follow the inward turn of
your right forearm running your hand down the forearm of your opponent. Bring the arm
and hand face up rolling your arm on your opponents forearm, the left forearm
continues on an outward turn until it faces obliquely West. Change weight from rear
insubstantial to front substantial pressing forwards and upwards with left palm on right
forearm (about half a fist from wrist). Your eye line also follows upwards along the
push. You have deflected and stuck to your opponents left punch and then issued a
supported push with your right forearm.

You could also do this against a right punch but your opponent would have an
opportunity to strike with his left if you where too slow and he kept his balance..

NOTE! Some techniques can be applied to either left or right punches.

The issue is does your opponent ideally get turned so his blind side (his
back/shoulder) is to you as opposed to doing a technique which leaves him with the
opportunity to follow through immediately with a strike from the other fist or foot because
you counter is inside his body?

For example, if a person faces you and you deflect his right hand with your left  from your
right to left, he's still facing you, you can see his front. However, if you parry his right with
your left from your left to right, his side is turned away from you or his arm is hopefully in
the way of his own counterattack.

PUSH The energy is like flowing water, a gradual overwhelming build up.
